Women's golfers stand 2nd, two strokes back

A strong second round at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic, has surged the Bearkat women's golfers to second on the leaderboard after two rounds in the opening tournament of the season.
After an opening round 306, the Kats fired a blistering, tournament-low 292 in the Utah Valley hosted event. They trail leaders Eastern Washington by two strokes in the 14-team field. They moved from 8th after the opening round of play.
Kari Bush shot a second-round 69, the second lowest score of the day, moving her up 30 places on the leaderboard to second over all. Her 4-over score is three off the pace with one round left to play.
Heather Shake also has a top-10 score, shooting a 7-over, 149 placing her in a tie for 10th. Other competitors for the Kats were Hannah Alberto (24th place, 10-over par), Gianti Mahardhika (33rd, 11-over) and Sarah Black (41st, 14-over).
The Bearkat surge was helped by playing the par 4 holes five strokes better than any team in the field.
The final round will be Tuesday.
