Bearkat Women?s golfers take title in Utah

Entering the final round two strokes out of the lead, the Sam Houston women put together a final round 300 to share the team title with Cal Poly.
Gianti Mahardhika eaqulled the team low of the weekend with a 69 to finish in 6th overall. She had a pair of birdies on the front nine, making the turn at 2-under for the round. After bogies on holes 11 and 12, she had three birdies in the final six holes.
The Kats won the team title by dominating the par 4s on the 6,032 yard course at Hobble Creek Golf Course in Springville, Utah. Over the three rounds, the Kats played the par 4s 10 strokes better then any other squad in the 14-team field.
Kari Bush, who shot a 69 on Monday, shot a 77 Tuesday and earned a top-10 finish, tying for ninth. Also competing for the Kats were Hannah Alberto (18th place, 14-over par), Heather Shake (24th, 15-over) and Sarah Black (47th, 24-over).
The Bearkat will be back in action on Sept. 26-27 in Tulsa, Okla., before hosting the Bearkat Women's Invitational Oct. 3-4 at Raven Nest.
