Kats take record 5th title of the season

The Kats shot a team score of 300, the best team mark of the day, to claim a 14-shot victory over the hosts, Houston Baptist. The title was the fifth of the season for the Bearkats, breaking the school record of four set in the 2006-07 season
“It was a great team effort from start to finish and with the wind blowing hard the girls kept their composure as the hole got more difficult,” said women's golf coach Tommy Chain. “This team stays calm under pressure. They have great composure for such a young group of girls.”
Mahardhika shot a 73 on Tuesday to finish even par for the tournament, taking the individual title by three shots. After opening with a tournament low round of 69 on Monday, she followed that up with a 74 to take the lead into today's final round.
“Gianti played solid for all three rounds and led the tournament from start to finish,” Chain said. “The key for her this week was solid ball striking and a very good short game.”
Hannah Alberto finished third overall after also shooting a 73 on Tuesday.
