Kats Pick Up at UT Arlington Invitational

HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State women's golf team looks to continue its winning ways on Oct. 22-23 at the UT Arlington Invitational at Walnut Creek Country Club in Mansfield, Texas.
The two-day tournament will see appearances from host UT Arlington, Incarnate Word, Arkansas State, Little Rock, South Alabama, Stephen F. Austin, Southern Utah and individuals from Kansas State.

Bearkat Bites
The cats are coming off a big win at the
Hanna Alberto led the way for the Bearkats, finishing in a tie for second with Eva Martinez of Lamar at 1-under for the tournament. Jenna Phillips had the low round of the day, shooting a 4-under 68 to move into a tie for 4th. She climbed eight spots on the final day. Phillips saved her best for last, recording four birdies in her final 10 holes.
Kenlie Barrett and Tory Gatling each posted top-10 finishes as well. Barrett shot a 77 on the final day to finish fourth. Gatling birdied her final hole of the day to move to 10thoverall. Kari Bush finished 40th following a 76-stroke final round.
Monday will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. local, playing 36 continuous holes. Tuesday will be another shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., playing the final 18 holes.
