Heinz goes into Hall of Honor

HUNTSVILLE - Jennifer Heinz will be one of the newest members to be inducted in the Sam Houston State Hall of Honor this fall. Heinz is one of eight men and women who will be inducted on Nov. 9.
Heinz was a member of the golf team from 2005-2008 and was a four-time All-Southland Selection. She was named SLC honorable mention as a freshman and sophomore and earned second team honors her junior year. As a senior, Heinz was a first-team All-Southland pick after a runner-up finish at the Southland Conference Championship.
Twice Heinz was a tournament champion taking top honors in at tournaments as a sophomore and senior. Her best season with the Kats came in her last. Heinz lowered her stroke average by nearly 2.5 shots, shooting a 75.97 that season. That mark ranks as No. 10 overall in school history.
She is one of nine Bearkat golfers with multiple individual titles in their career.
The Hall of Honor Induction Ceremony is presented by the Bearkat Champions Fund in conjunction with the Sam Houston Letterwinner's Association.
