
Kats Sit Sixth in Hawaii

PRINCEVILLE, Hawaii – Finishing five-under-par in the opening round of the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational on Sunday, the Sam Houston State men's golf team sits in sixth place with a team score of 238.
Three Kats – William Holcomb, Austen Christiansen
Christiansen was the second-highest finisher for the Kats with a 70-stroke effort and DeBonis finished the opening round with 71 down on the card. Christiansen sits in a tie for 16th overall while DeBonis is tied for 30th.
Randle, who collected an eagle on hole 18, is tied for 88th and Steele sits in a four-way tie for 97th.
No. 11 Pepperdine currently leads the field with a team score of 273 and 37th-ranked Missouri sits second with 276. UAB ranks third overall with 278, followed by Purdue in fourth (281), CSU-Fullerton in fifth (282) and the Bearkats in sixth.
The Kats will kick off round two tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. (HT).
