HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston State men's golf team travels west to Fort Collins, Colo., on Sept. 17-18 for the Ram Masters Invitational at Fort Collins Country Club.

Senior Camden DeBonis shot a team-low 68 in the final round to finish third overall at the Lone Star Invitational at TPC San Antonio AT&T Oaks Course. The Bearkats tied for third overall and used a strong second round to finish with a combined score of 589.
Marking down a 68 in the final round, DeBonis jumped seven places after shooting four birdies and an eagle on the 17th hole. The veteran from Allen, Texas, picked up back-to-back birdies mid-way through the round and led the field averaging 3.85 on par fours.
Freshman Grayson Blunt marked down a pair of 72-stroke rounds in his first collegiate tournament and finished the invitational in a three-way tie for fifth place. Junior William Holcomb tied 30th overall while Jack Randle and Noah Steele tied for 52nd and 63rd, respectively.
As a team, the Kats tallied 24 birdies and a tournament-high two eagles. The crew averaged 4.17 strokes on par fours and 5.05 strokes on par fives.
