Box Score DALLAS — The Sam Houston State tennis team dropped a road match against nationally-ranked SMU 5-2 Friday afternoon at the SMU Tennis Complex.
 
The Bearkats (4-3) got wins at No. 2 and No. 6 singles against the Mustangs (5-0), which won the doubles point.
 
Sophomore Isidora Zivkovic rallied after dropping her No. 2 singles opening set to defeat Sarai Monarrez Yesaki 4-6, 7-6, 1-0. She is now 4-2 on the season.
 
Freshman Emma Goedkoop continued her stellar start to her Bearkat career with a win at No. 6 singles to move to 6-1 on the season. She defeated Katherine Jakeway 6-0, 7-6.
 
Senior Sahaja Yamalapalli lost for the first time this season in the No. 1 spot, falling to Jackie Nylander 6-3, 7-5. Junior Karla De La Luz Montalvo lost to Isabella Tcherkes Zade 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.
 
In No. 4 singles, SMU's Claudia Bartolome defeated senior Constandena Nicolaou in a close match 6-7, 6-2, 1-0, while senior Lusine Chobanyan fell in No. 5 singles to Nicole Petchey 7-5, 6-2.
 
The Bearkats travel to Houston Sunday to face Rice at noon.
