Women's golf takes 4th in Tulsa

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - In one of the toughest tournaments of the season, the Sam Houston women's golf team took fourth place at the Dale McNamara Invitational hosted by Tulsa.

The Bearkats final round of 290 allowed them to move past BYU for a top-4 finish, with UNLV taking the title followed by Nebraska and Fresno State.

Jennifer Herbst recorded her third top-10 finish of the season with a 2-over round of 74 on Tuesday. She bounced back from a slow start, to shoot 1-under on the back 9.

The low round of the day for the Bearkats belonged to both Zulaikah Nasser and Anna Takahashi who both shot a 71. The final round allowed Nasser to move up 10 spots on the leader board, finishing in 21^st. For Takahashi, it was a bounce back after a second round 80, to climb 15 spots for No. 39.

Viera Permata Rosada shot a 74, including s stretch where she had five birdies over eight holes. She finished in a tie for 47th. Leah Alberto shot a 77 to finish tied for 31. Audrey Haddad, who was playing as an individual, shot a 79 and finished 53^rd.

The Bearkats will be in action again on Oct. 25 taking part in the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by College of Charleston.
