Nasser wins Palmetto Intercollegiate

KIAWAH ISLAND, South Carolina — Sam Houston sophomore Zulaikah Nasser led the Bearkat women's golf team to a third-place finish by winning the individual championship at the Palmetto Intercollegiate Tuesday.

Nasser won the event by three strokes, firing rounds of 68, 68 and 70 to finish at 10-under par 206. It was her second win this fall.

The Bearkats were six-over for the tournament with rounds of 284, 290 and 296 for a three-round total of 870. North Florida won the tournament at eight-under 856 followed by South Florida at three-over 867.

Sophomore Jennifer Herbst finished tied for 19^th at three-over 219 with rounds of 71, 74 and 74. Junior Leah Alberto tied for 28^th with rounds of 71, 74 and 77 for a six-over total of 222.

Sophomore Anna Takahashi had rounds of 74, 74 and 75 to tie for 32^nd at seven-over 223. Sophomore Viera Permata Rosada tied for 59^th with rounds of 74, 79 and 78 for 15-over 231.
