CORPUS CHRISTI – The Bearkat women's golf team holds a six-shot lead over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi after the second round of play at the Islander Invitational was suspended because of darkness.

With two holes remaining in the second round, the Kats hold a 6-shot lead over the host Islanders.

Individually, the Kats have three golfers in the top 7 of the leaderboard with Leah Alberto leading the field at 2-over. She opened the tournament with a 71 and is the only golfer to shoot a round under par.

Hanna Alberto is sitting in third at 5-over for the tournament. She opened with a 75 and is two-over with two holes remaining. Jennifer Herbst is in seventh at 6-over after an opening round 74.

All five Bearkat golfers are in the top 20, with Viera Permata Rosada checking in at 16^th with a score of 12-oveer and Anna Takahashi is a shot back in 19^th.

The Bearkats will conclude the tournament on Tuesday.
