Kats in fourth at White Sands Invitational

PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas — The Sam Houston men's golf team remains in fourth place following second round action at the White Sands Bahamas Invitational on Saturday.

The Bearkats shot a 4-under 284 at the par-72, 7,159-yard Ocean Club Course to tie with Stetson at 13-under 563 through 36 holes. No. 43 Duke made a second-round run to take a 12-stroke lead at 29-under 547 to lead Southern Miss (559) and Arkansas State (560).

Bret Gray was tied for the lead after round one but slipped into a tie for fifth with a 1-under 71 on Saturday. He is 7-under 137 through two rounds following a 66 on day one.

Gene Chaikangwal is tied for 14^th at 4-under 140 thanks to back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70. Following an even par opening round, Samuel McKenzie went 1-under on Saturday to move into a tie for 28^th at 143.

Ting-Wei Hsieh shot even in the second round and is tied for 45^th at 2-over 146. Josh German turned in a 4-over 76 Saturday and is now tied for 49^th at 3-over 147.

ULM is in sixth place at 565 followed by UTEP (568), Nebraska (568), VCU (569), Troy (570), Texas State (579) and Delaware (596).
