Men's golf tied for 9th in Dallas

DALLAS — The Sam Houston men's golf team is tied for ninth place with North Texas following round two of the Trinity Forest Invitational on Monday.
The Bearkats opened with 289 Sunday and shot 292 Monday to sit at 5-over par 581 at the Trinity Forest Golf Club. Little Rock is in first place at 15-under 561 followed by SMU (562), Baylor (563), Furman (565), SMU's second team (571), Houston (571), UTSA (574) and Florida Atlantic (579).
Gene Chaikangwal and Bret Gray lead the way for Sam Houston. They are tied for 19th place at 1-under 143 with Chaikangwal posting rounds of 72 and 71 and Gray shooting 68 and 75.
Ting-Wei Hsieh is tied for 47th at 3-over 147 with rounds of 73 and 74, and Jack Randle is tied for 62nd at 5-over 149 with scores of 77 and 72. Kristoffer Max is 90th at 12-over 156 following rounds of 76 and 80.
Round three tees off on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
