Two Kats to compete at NCAA indoors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Sam Houston will have two participants competing in the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The championships will be held Friday and Saturday at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Clayton Fritsch will compete in the pole vault Friday at 3 p.m. following his record-setting performance at the Western Athletic Conference indoor championships. He broke the conference and meet record with a vault of 18 feet, 9 ½ inches which is the fourth-best mark in the country this season.

KeAyla Dove qualified for the NCAA indoors in the shot put this past weekend at the OBU/GAC Last Chance meet in Wichita, Kansas. Her throw of 56 feet, 10 ¾ inches is currently the 11^th-best mark in the country and she will compete at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 10 a.m. on Friday and starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday on ESPNU.
