Alberto takes third at HBU

SUGAR LAND - Playing as an individual, Leah Alberto finished in third place at the HBU Husky Invitational on Tuesday.

Alberto, along with Viera Permata Rosada and Cari Denson were the only two Bearkats competing in the event so they were all playing as individuals.

Alberto closed the tournament on Tuesday with a final round 71, the second best mark in the field. She finished one-shot out of the lead, closing out the tournament at 8-over for the three rounds.

Alberto was one of just two golfers who shot under par on Tuesday. After rounds of 75 and 78 on Monday, Alberto moved up 7 spots with her 71. The third place finish is the highest of the season for Alberto and her second top 5 finish of the year.

Rosada finished the tournament in a tie for 29^th after shooting a 79 on Tuesday. She closed out the tournament at 21-over par.

Denson finished in a tie for 38^th following a round of 81.

The Bearkats will be back on the course April 5-6 for the Mary Kauth Invitational hosted by UTSA.
