Box Score HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston tennis team bounced back with an impressive 6-1 victory over Binghamton on Wednesday at the McAdams Tennis Center.
The only match the Bearkats (5-7) lost was by default at No. 6 singles to snap a three-match losing streak.
Sam Houston jumped out to a 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point.
Petra Kaszas and
Megan Basson captured a 6-1 win over Caterina Casadei and Maria Peirira at No. 1, while
Isidora Zivkovic and
Sahithi Vutukuru topped Natalia Aruj and Lara Kaplan 6-3 at No. 2.
Basson cruised in her No. 1 singles match by defeating Kaplan 6-2, 6-0, and Vutukuru coasted to a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Periera in the No. 2 spot.
Zivkovic made quick work of Casadei in their No. 3 match with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Kaszas stopped Aruj 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4, and
Sunskrithi Damera defeated Abby Ackroyd 6-1, 6-1.
The Bearkats begin WAC play with a home match against UTRGV on Saturday at 11 a.m.
