STEPHENVILLE — The Sam Houston tennis team won three singles matches, but it was not quite enough in a 4-3 loss to Tarleton at the Potishman-Lard Tennis Courts on Saturday.
The Bearkats (7-9 overall, 1-2 in WAC) closed the dual match on a good note after falling behind 4-0.
Megan Basson defeated Deniza Marcinkevica 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles for her sixth win of the season. Basson and
Petra Kaszas also took down Elsa Boisson and Jemi Aguilar 6-4 in No. 2 doubles play.
Lusine Chobanyan rebounded from a 6-4 loss in the first set to Elsa Boisson at No. 4 to win 6-4, 6-1.
Sunskrithi Damera knocked off Anna Davidson 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles.
Sam Houston will stay in Stephenville to face Abilene Christian on Sunday at 2 p.m.
