Sewell finishes 20th at NCAA Regional

Final Results

BRYAN – Chad Sewell finished his Bearkat career with a 20^th place finish at the NCAA Regional in Bryan on Wednesday.

Sewell shot a final round 73 to finish 2-over for the championship.

After dropping strokes on two of the first three holes Sewell played the rest of the round at 1-under. He finished the day with five birdies.

All week long at Traditions Golf Club, the opening three holes gave Sewell trouble. He was 6-over on Holes 1-3 over his three rounds. He played the rest of the course a combined 4-under.

Sewell was competing for one spot to advance to the NCAA Championship. He finished five shots off that mark.

Sewell's top 20 finish is the fourth time a Bearkat has finished in the top 20 at a Regional, joining Luis Carrera (2021, T-16), Klein Klotz (2014, 3^rd), Zach Cabra (2014, 19th) and Jeff Bellnap (1990, 13^th).

He finishes the year with a 71.7 stroke average which ranks as the fourth-best single season in program history.
