HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston women's golf team cruised to a 40-stroke victory at the Remax Prime Properties Invitational at the Bearkat Course on Tuesday.

The Bearkats fired a 5-over 289 to finish 1-under 851 for the tournament on the par-71, 6,058-yard course. ULM placed second at 891 followed by Houston Christian (901), Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (904), UTEP (908), Oklahoma City University (909), Tarleton (916), Texas A&M-Commerce (927), Lamar (929), UTRGV (939), Stephen F. Austin (939), UTA (951) and Texas Southern (990).

Sam Houston captured the top three individual medalist spots.

Zulaikah Nasser won the tournament by shooting an even-par 71 to finish 6-under at 207. She turned in rounds of 67 and 69 on Monday.

Jenn David was the only other golfer to shoot under par. She finished with a four-over 75 to go 1-under 212 for the tournament.

Viera Permata Rosada placed third with a final round of 1-under 70 for a total of 2-over 215. Anna Takahashi and Jennifer Herbst both closed the tournament with 74 to tie for seventh at 7-over 220.

Leah Alberto tied for 10^th at 9-over 222 with a final round 74, and Cari Denson tied for 59^th with a 26-over 239.
