Cross country teams begin season at Rice

HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston men's and women's cross country teams will begin the 2022 season at the Rice Invitational on Friday.

The women's 4,000-meter race will begin at 6:20 p.m. The men will take to the 6,000-meter course at 6:50 p.m.

The Bearkats will be off until Sept. 30 when both teams travel to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the Chile Pepper Festival. Two weeks later, Sam Houston will run at the Arturo Barrios Invitational at Texas A&M on Oct. 15.

The Western Athletic Conference Championships will be held in Nacogdoches on Oct. 29.
