NEW ORLEANS — The Sam Houston tennis team was able to squeeze in a dual match against South Alabama in inclement weather but lost 4-0 on Saturday.
The Bearkats are 2-4 on the season after Friday's match at Tulane was postponed due to rain. Sam Houston is set to play Southern in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Sunday.
South Alabama took a 1-0 lead when Elysia Pool defeated
Anastasia Khokhlova 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. Tereza Dejnozkova made it 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over
Sahithi Vutukuru on the third court.
Paula Cerda played a close match at No. 2 before falling 6-4, 6-4, and Chems Doha Zeghlouli sealed the match for South Alabama with a 6-2, 6-2 win over
Vianne Schwab at No. 5.
