HUNTSVILLE — Justin Wishkoski's RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning propelled Sam Houston to a 5-4 walk-off victory over Seattle U on Sunday at Don Sanders Stadium.
The Bearkats (9-8) completed the Western Athletic Conference opening series sweep of the Redhawks after taking the first two games over the weekend.
Sam Houston trailed 4-3 heading into the ninth when
Myles Jefferson drew a one-out walk,
Joe Redfield singled and both runners advanced on a wild pitch.
Lane Brewster walked to load the bases, and
Walker Janek also reached on a free pass to tie the game.
With the count at 3-1, Wishkoski laced the game-winning single into left field as the Kats rushed the field in celebration.
Seattle U led 3-0 before Sam Houston got on the board in the bottom of the second on an RBI single by
Tyler Davis. The Kats came back to tie the game in the fourth on a two-run blast over the wall in right field off the bat of Janek.
Sam Houston returns to action Tuesday when the Bearkats host Houston Christian at 1 p.m.
