HUNTSVILLE — The Sam Houston tennis team lost to Abilene Christian 6-1 on Saturday and 6-1 to Tarleton on Sunday in a pair of dual matches at the McAdams Tennis Center.
The Bearkats (4-8, 1-2 WAC) had to move the match against the Wildcats to Saturday and move the contest against the Texans up an hour on Sunday due to inclement weather in the area. Sam Houston is playing with out its No. 1 singles player
Megan Basson who suffered an injury.
Paula Cerda picked up the Kats' lone point on Saturday and Sunday. She defeated ACU's Masha Vrsalovic 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles then held off Tarleton's top player, Emma Persson, 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) on Sunday.
Aaliyah Homann and Anastasia Khokholova won their No. 3 doubles matches over the weekend. They knocked off Eva Arranz and Andrea Guerrero of ACU 7-5 and Persson and Clara Sobius of TSU 6-4.
