SEATTLE — Sam Houston used some late-inning magic to rally for a 5-2 victory at Logan Field on Friday.
The Bearkats (14-22 overall, 5-2 in WAC) trailed 2-1 heading into the top of the seventh inning when
Kylie Hobbs came in to pinch hit and led off with a double to left field.
Elia Hebel walked with one out, and
Kelsey Bunch kept the momentum going with a ground-rule double to left to tie the game.
Brodie Quinlan walked with two outs to load the bases, and pinch runner
Haleigh Carter scored on a wild pitch to give Sam Houston its first lead since the first inning when
Jordan Peno drove in a run with a sacrifice fly.
Brailey Wasik laced a two-run single to center for a couple of insurance runs, and starter
Daryn Grams closed it out in the bottom of the frame to improve to 5-4 on the season.
The Bearkats and Redhawks will play a doubleheader on Saturday to close out the three game series.
