HUNTSVILLE– The Sam Houston softball team fell 1-0 to New Mexico State on Sunday's series finale at Bearkat Softball Complex.
The Bearkats (11-16, 0-6) could not get their first CUSA win in the weekend series against the Aggies.
The Bearkats had five hits on the day. Tricia Yarotsky, Elia Hebel, Haleigh Carter, Morgan Holliday and Chandler Talbot all hit safely for the Kats. But could not capitalize to bring them home.
Mika Vento went the distance allowing five hits and one earned run and striking out three.
The Bearkats will head to Beaumont to face Lamar on Tuesday at 5:30. The game is set to be aired on ESPN+.
