Kats travel to WKU

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Sam Houston travels to Bowling Green, Kentucky, this week for a three-game Conference USA series against Western Kentucky.

The Bearkats (24-25, 9-3 CUSA) are coming off a weekend sweep of Middle Tennessee and will look to carry that momentum into the matchup with the Hilltoppers (24-8, 8-4 CUSA). Sam Houston holds a 2-5 all-time record against WKU and last faced the Hilltoppers in the conference tournament last season, falling 3-2.

Kendall Daniel is coming off a standout weekend in which she set a career high for strikeouts in a single game and earned Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors. Veronica Harrison is also approaching a milestone, sitting one home run shy of the program's all-time record. Abigail Young returned from injury and made an appearance during last weekend's series.

Due to a schedule change, the teams will now play a doubleheader Thursday, April 2, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., before concluding the series with a single game Friday, April 3, at 5 p.m.
