MURFREESBORO— The Sam Houston women's basketball team could not stop Middle Tennessee in 93-62 loss on Saturday at the Murphy Center.
The Bearkats (7-19, 2-12 Conference USA) failed to shut down the Lady Raider offense, which shot 57 percent from the field ,while the Kats shot 41 percent. Ta' Mia Scott put up 26 points of her own for Middle Tennessee.
Kaylee Jefferson led the Bearkats with 18 points. Sydnee Kemp, Raanee Smith and Shanti Henry added 10 points each.
Smith was just shy of collecting her eighth double-double on the season with nine rebounds and 10 points.
Sam Houston will return home to host Louisiana Tech on Wednesday at 6:30 pm. The game is set to be aired on ESPN+.
