HUNTSVILLE— The Sam Houston softball team will host No. 17 Baylor on Tuesday at Bearkat Softball Complex.
This will be the 67th time the Bearkats have faced the Bears. Sam Houston trails the all-time series 15-51. This is the highest ranked team to visit the Bearkat Softball Complex since fourth-ranked Washington came here in 2018.
Game notes
- This will be the 67th all-time meeting between the Kats and the Bears. Sam Houston trails the series 15-51. This matchup dates back to 1984 when the Bearkats lost 3-2 in nine innings at home.
- The Bearkats are coming off a weekend sweep against Abilene Christian where they scored a total of 24 runs and held ACU to only three, two earned.
- Sam Houston has a pair of experienced arms in Daryn Grams and Mika Vento who have both faced Baylor. Vento has played the Bears three times in her career, and this will be the second time for Grams.
- Baylor is riding a 10-game winning streak in the series.
