Kats complete opening round of Bryan Regional

BRYAN, Texas – The Sam Houston women's golf team fired a round of 306 and stands in 11th place after the opening round of play of the NCAA Bryan Regional on Monday, played at Traditions Golf Club.

Grace Jin led the way with a round of 74, which has her tied for 22nd individually after the first 18 holes of the week. Zulaikah Nasser turned in a 76 and Viera Permata Rosada had a 77. Jenn David's 79 closed out the Kats' scoring rounds, while Jennifer Herbst finished with an 81.

SMU and LSU lead the 12-team field with team rounds of 286, while regional host Texas A&M is just one shot back. On the individual side, Ingrid Lindblad (LSU), Mackenzie Lee (SMU) and Latanna Stone (LSU) lead the way with rounds of 68.

The Kats will tee off for Round 2 of the Bryan Regional at 8:50 a.m. from Traditions. Sam Houston will be paired with Little Rock and Sacred Heart.
