BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Sam Houston was unable to slow down Western Kentucky in an 82-49 loss on Saturday at E.A. Diddle Arena.
The Bearkats (8-10, 1-7 CUSA) struggled against the Hilltopper defense, which forced 30 turnovers. Western Kentucky turned that into 37 points.
The Hilltoppers held a commanding 25-point lead at halftime, and Sam Houston was unable to reel them in from there.
The Kats showed improvement at the free-throw line, finishing with a season-high 85 percent shooting percentage.
Deborah Ogayemi was just shy of her fifth double-double this season, finishing with 15 points and nine rebounds. Kyleigh McGuire added 11 points.
Sam Houston will have a week off before hosting Louisiana Tech on Saturday at 2 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
