HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston women's basketball team closed out its 2025 home season with a 59-46 loss to Middle Tennessee on Saturday at Johnson Coliseum.
The Bearkats (12-13, 5-10 CUSA) struggled to contain 6-foot-7 center Anastasiia Boldyreva, who led the Blue Raiders with 19 points and 14 rebounds.
Nyla Inmon paced Sam Houston with 16 points and eight boards, while Sydnee Kemp added 10 points, knocking down two of the Bearkats' five 3-pointers. Fanta Kone recorded five steals on the defensive end.
Sam Houston kept it close in the second quarter, cutting the deficit to one before Middle Tennessee responded with a late run to take a 31-22 lead into halftime. The Blue Raiders controlled the game from there, despite the Bearkats hitting four 3-pointers in the second half.
The Bearkats travel to Louisiana Tech on Thursday before a bye on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
