HUNTSVILLE – The Sam Houston Bearkats trailed the Houston Cougars suspended the second game of the Don Sanders Cup series in the bottom of the fifth inning on Wednesday due to weather in the area.
With the game not yet being regulation, having not completed five frames, the teams agreed to continue play of halted game next week at Constellation Field prior to the start of third game of the series.
Wednesday's game was halted with the Kats trailing Houston by a score of 9-6 and Ryan Franden leading off the bottom of the fifth vs Cougar reliever Antoine Jean. The Kats had trailed by as much as seven runs before clawing their way back in with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Further details regarding a start time for the resumption of play on March 18 will come at a later date. Currently, the Kats and Cougars are scheduled to play at 6:30 p.m. next week at Constellation Field in the series finale.

The Kats will now stay home and turn their attention to a 3-game series vs Abilene Christian, beginning Friday night at Don Sanders Stadium.
