Kats take sixth in the CUSA Championships

ST AUGUSTINE, FLA. – The Sam Houston women's golf team finished sixth after a round of 300 in the final round of the Conference USA Championships on Wednesday, played at World Golf Village.
Grace Jin finished 4th overall after firing off 71-73-71 in the event. Jin had a strong finish shooting three birdies and two bogeys in the final round despite 15 mph wind conditions. Amelia Guo finished just behind her with two-over on the day placing her 11th overall. Guo had an amazing tee shot on the 18th hole setting her up for an easy par shot as she finished 75-72-74 on her scorecard.
Gracie Heinle turned in 74-78-77 and finished in 24th place. Heinle drained an amazing long putt on the 18th hole to finish off her round. Victoria Renzi came in right behind her shooting six-over par in the final round placing 31st overall. Renzi fired off 81-73-78 after a tap in par on the 18th as her long putt came just inches from the hole. Cari Denson closed out the Bearkats with 81-83-84, finishing 37th individually.
Western Kentucky took the team title at seven-over par putting them seven strokes over Jax State (+14). Florida International followed shooting +19.
The Bearkats finished off their spring season strong with this sixth-place finish and their seventh-place finish at Mo Memorial Invitational. The Kats will be back in action next fall for the 2025-2026 season.
