ARLINGTON — The Sam Houston bowling team fell to rival Stephen F. Austin for the second day in a row to be eliminated from the NCAA Arlington Regional on Saturday at the ITRC.
The second-seeded Bearkats opened the regional against the Lumberjacks on Friday with SFA coming away with a 2-0 victory by winning the traditional and Baker match points. Sam Houston then faced a must-win situation against Belmont Abbey 2-0.
Saturday brought a showdown between the Kats and Jacks once again with a trip to the regional finals against top-seeded and defending national champion Jacksonville State. SFA was able to come out on top once again 2-0 to end Sam Houston's season.
