HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston will host UTSA in a midweek matchup Wednesday at the Bearkat Softball Complex.Â
The Bearkats (18-13, 4-2 CUSA) hold a 39-44 all-time record against the Roadrunners (17-12, 6-0 AAC), with the series dating back to 1992. Sam Houston enters the contest on a two-game winning streak after the teams last met a season ago.Â
The Bearkats are coming off a strong weekend against New Mexico State, taking the series 2-1. Tricia Yarotsky led the offensive surge, hitting a grand slam and a two-run home run to help secure the series victory over the Aggies. Veronica Harrison also homered, extending her team-leading total to 11 this season.Â
Harrison is now two home runs shy of tying Bella Perez's 13 home runs from last season, which matched the program's single-season record.Â
Freshman Sophia Lundstrom has been a key contributor for the Bearkats, leading the team in multiple categories, including a .404 batting average, eight doubles, 42 hits, 11 stolen bases and 104 at-bats. She has started all 31 games this season.Â
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Bearkat Softball Complex.
