Kats in second at Music City Classic

SMYRNA, Tenn. — Sam Houston will be near the top of the championship bracket after another strong performance at the Music City Classic hosted by Vanderbilt on Saturday.
The Bearkats picked up three more wins with two coming against Sacred Heart and Niagara, who are ranked in the top 15 in the nation, and currently remain in second place with 10,558 total pins. Jax State continues to lead with 10,702 pins, and Vanderbilt is third with 10,489.
Sam Houston placed three bowlers in the top 20 of the individual competition. Breana Chewens was sixth with an average of 221.8, Miya Greene was 10 at 216.8 and Jessica Sills was 19th at 208.2.
"We're battling for everything we can get right now and we really need to take advantage of our strength of schedule tomorrow and give it everything we got," head coach Brad Hagen said. "This group has what it takes. The opportunity is there for us, we just need to keep doing what we're doing, and rise to the occasion."
