Kats hit road to La Tech

RUSTON, La. — Sam Houston travels to Ruston, Louisiana, this weekend for a three-game Conference USA series against Louisiana Tech at Bundrick Field.

The Bearkats (27-19, 11-7 CUSA) are coming off a 2-1 series win over Missouri State. Tiffany Sanchez earned Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season following her performance in the circle.

Sam Houston leads the all-time series 19-14 and took two of three games from the Bulldogs in last season's conference matchup. Louisiana Tech enters the weekend with a 22-21 overall record and an 8-10 mark in conference play.

Veronica Harrison continues to power the Bearkats' offense, leading the team with 15 home runs, a .797 slugging percentage and 41 RBIs. Sophia Lundstrom paces the lineup with a .406 batting average, along with 14 doubles and 63 hits.

The series begins at 6 p.m. Friday, followed by a 2 p.m. first pitch Saturday. The finale is set for 11 a.m. Sunday. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
