Beginning her fourth year in Huntsville, Robin Hubbard previously served as assistant women’s tennis coach at University of Maryland-Baltimore County before joining the Sam Houston State staff.
She brings a wealth of teaching experience to the Bearkats, having also been an assistant coach at Towson State and Texas-Pan American. She also has worked as a tennis professional at four top tennis clubs in Texas.
She was a pro at the Forty West Racquet Club for six years, had a one-year stint at The Club at Cimarron in Misson and was the director of junior tennis at the Walden Racquet Club in Conroe. She also was a member of the pro staff at the Del Lago Tennis Resort Center and April Sound Tennis Club, both in Conroe, for close to a decade.
Hubbard played college tennis at the University of North Texas in Denton. She was the No. 1 singles player for UNT’s No. 14 nationally ranked squad and ranked among the top 50 in the women’s rankings.
The Dallas native played on the Virginia Slims pro tour from 1979 to 1981.
Before college, Hubbard was ranked No. 64 in the nation in Girls 18’s, No. 5 in Texas and was ranked No. 1 in Texas Open Mixed Doubles.
