Driver Leads Kats in UTSA Event

Paced by Garrett Driver, the Sam Houston men's golf team finished in 10th place in a talent-laden 15-team field at the UTSA Lone Star Invitational men's golf tournament.
The event was played on the par 72, 7,289-yard course at Briggs Ranch Golf Course in San Antonio. The tournament concluded Tuesday with the final round of the 54-hole tournament.
Driver led Sam Houston and tied for ninth place in the individual medalist standings with a one-over 54-hole score of 69-72-76--217.
Jeff Wilbawa of the Rice won the individual competition with a 70-67-72--209 score.
The University of New Mexico won the team competition with a 274-286-301--861 total.
