SHSU's Alisa White Individual Runner-up at Corpus

Sam Houston's Alisa White fired a four-over 54-hole total of 936 to finish one stroke back of the individual medalist champion at the Islanders Classic women's golf tournament Tuesday.
The event, hosted by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, was played on the par 72, 6,108-yard course at Corpus Christi Country Club Monday and Tuesday.
White, a junior from Hereford, carded rounds of 72, 74 and 74 to finish in a three-way tie as runner-up along with Sarah Brown of Central Arkansas (74-74-72—220) and Wenny Chang of Lamar (75-73-72—220).
Elia Folch of Oklahoma City won the individual medalist title with 70-73-76—219 total.
Lamar won the team championship with an 892 total. Houston Baptist was the runner-up at 908. Oral Roberts (915), Oklahoma City (917), North Texas (921), Northern Illinois (922), Central Arkansas (923), Stephen F. Austin (929), Sam Houston (936) and Bradley (937) rounded out the top 10 finishers.
Host A&M-Corpus Christi (943) was 11th followed by Texas-Pan American (960), McLennan (962), South Dakota (963), Drake (990) and A&M-Kingsville (1022).
Other Sam Houston individual finishes were Paige Nelson 50th 82-81-77—240, Nicole Budnik 50th 80-85-75—240, Brooke Fouts 54th 81-79-81—241 and Abigayle Corson 59th 83-80-81—244.
Next action for the Bearkat women's golf team is March 24-25 at the Arkansas-Little Rock Invitational
