Miner runner-up at Louisiana Tech

CHOUDRANT, La. -- Albert Miner went low in the second round and finished as the runner-up of the Argent Financial Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech. Miner was just one shot back of the tournament champion Pep Angles of Central Arkansas.
Miner's tournament-best 68 in the second round led the Kats to a third place finish in the team competition. The Bearkats were tied for sixth after the first round and rallied for a solid second round.
Zach Cabra was also outstanding in the final round of the event. Cabra was one of only two golfers to fire a 69 at the event, which was shortened by one round due to weather. He finished tied for fourth after he sat 20th after the first day.
The Kats finished just eight strokes back of the winner, North Texas, who was followed by the hosts Louisiana Tech. SHSU finished ahead of Southland foes Southeastern Louisiana, Central Arkansas and New Orleans.
Freshman Klein Klotz (76-77-153) and Logan Boatner (80-73-153) were each tied for 32nd. Andrew Johnson (87-79-166) finished tied for 66th.
SHSU will next head to the Border Olympics March 14-15 in Laredo.
