Nasser leads Kats to 4th-place finish

MISSION VIEJO, Calif. — The Sam Houston women's golf team finished fourth at the Beach Invitation held at the Mission Viejo Country Club on Monday and Tuesday.

The Bearkats shot rounds of 304-314-305 for a 59-over 923. UCLA won the event with a 911, Colorado State was second (916) and Long Beach State was third (918).

Zulaikah Nasser won the individual championship at 6-over following rounds of 77-71-74 for a 222. Jennifer Herbst and Jenn David both tied for 16^th at 18 over 234 following rounds of 77-80-77 and 73-84-77.

Leah Alberto tied for 31^st at 21-over with rounds of 77-83-77. Viera Permata Rosada tied for 45 at 24-over 240 with rounds of 82-80-78.

Sam Houston returns to action March 6-7 at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Florida.
