Max, Randle place 1st at Whispering Pines Shootout

TRINITY — Kristoffer Max and Jack Randle tied for first place at the Whispering Pines Shootout between the Sam Houston and Houston men's golf teams on Tuesday in Trinity.

Max and Randle each shot 4-under 68 at the par-72, 7,423-yard Whisper Pines Golf Club course. Bret Gray finished fourth with a 2-under 70.

Samuel McKenzie and Gene Chaikangwal both carded 1-under 71 to tie for sixth place. Josh German tied for eighth at 2-under 74, and Ting-Wei Hsieh placed 12^th at 3-over 75.

Daniel Moon finished with a 5-over 77 to place 14^th, and Nathan Weber was 17^th with a 14-over 86.

The Bearkats will compete in the WAC Championships on April 28-30 at the Boulder Creek Country Club in Boulder City, Nevada.
