GULF SHORES, Ala. — The Sam Houston women's golf team held off a charging Oral Roberts to capture the team championship at the Bama Beach Bash held at the Gulf Shores Golf Club on Tuesday.

The Bearkats shot a final round 5-over 293 to place first at 9-over 585 ahead of Oral Roberts (587), Austin Peay (), UNC Ashville (595), Central Arkansas (604), North Carolina A&T (605), North Alabama (606), Tarleton (609), Southern Illinois (613) and Jacksonville (615).

Jenn David notched a top-five finish by placing fifth with a closing round score of 2-over 74 for total of 1-over 145. Grace Jin was right behind her in a tie for sixth at 2-over 146 following a 1-under 71 on Tuesday.

Jennifer Herbst tied for eighth with a 3-over 147 with a 2-over 74 in the final round. Viera Permata Rosada finished with a 3-over 75 to tie for 14^th at 4-over 148.

Amelia Guo and Zulaikah Nasser both tied for 17^th at 5-over 149. Guo was 5-over 77 in the final round and Nasser shot 2-over 74.
