Bearkats to start 2025-2026 season at Badger Invitational

MADISON, Wisc. – The Sam Houston women's golf team will tee off the 2025-2026 season at the Badger Invitational, beginning Sunday, September 15 at University Ridge Golf Course.
 
The event, hosted by Wisconsin, will consist of 54 holes and is a three-day tournament with 18 holes being played each day.
 
This par-72, 6,297-yard tournament has been played since 2012. The course is ranked No. 5 on Top 25 College Golf Courses on Golfer's Choice in 2024 and is the host site of American Family Insurance Championship. It features near fairways, greenside bunkers, and water hazards. The Bearkats have played this event since 2023, placing second last year.
 
The tournament consists of 14 teams including Iowa, Illinois, Denver, Washington State, Delaware, St. Thomas, South Dakota State, Colorado State, WKU, Bradley, Western Michigan, Green Bay, and the host Wisconsin.
 
Last year, the Bearkats finished second shooting 29 over par. Amelia Guo returns to lead the roster this season and led the team at this event a year ago, shooting -4 after firing off rounds of 73-72-75, to finish ninth individually. Teammate Victoria Renzi also took part in the event a year ago, placing 38th with a score of +15.
 
Live scoring will be via Scoreboard by Clippd with updating scores throughout the round as well as the results at the end of each day.
