HUNTSVILLE — Sam Houston will host Baylor in a midweek matchup at the Bearkat Softball Complex on Wednesday night, closing out its current homestand before heading back on the road this weekend.Â
The Bearkats (11-6) welcome the Bears (11-4) for a 6 p.m. first pitch as they look to build momentum against a longtime in-state opponent. Wednesday's contest marks another chapter in a series that dates back to 1984. Sam Houston holds a 15-53 all-time record against Baylor and is seeking its first win in the series since 2013.Â
Freshman Sophia Lundstrom leads the team at the plate with a .415 batting average and 22 hits, providing consistency at the top of the lineup. Veronica Harrison paces the offense with 15 RBIs and five home runs.Â
