KENNESAW, Ga. — Sam Houston secured the series against Kennesaw State with a 15-2 run-rule victory Sunday morning at Bailey Park.

The Bearkats (21-14, 6-3 Conference USA) took control early as Veronica Harrison launched her 13th home run of the season, tying the program's single-season record. Sam Houston kept the momentum going in the second inning with three consecutive doubles from Morgan Holliday, Sophia Lundstrom and Bella Perez, followed by a home run from Peyton Helmly.

The Bearkats added on in the third when Tricia Yarotsky delivered a three-run home run to extend the lead. Helmly struck again in the fourth with her second home run of the game, marking the team's fourth of the day — a new season high for home runs in a single game.

Kennesaw State (6-22, 2-7 CUSA) was held scoreless until the fifth inning, when Ana Gore hit a two-run double. Sam Houston turned to Makenzi Jenkins in relief to close out the game and secure the run-rule victory in five innings.

Tiffany Sanchez led the Bearkats in the circle, recording two strikeouts while allowing just two runs to improve her record to 8-5. Freshman Sydney Prihoda also notched her first collegiate hit in the win.

The Bearkats return to action Tuesday, traveling to College Station to face Texas A&M in a midweek matchup at Davis Diamond. First pitch is scheduled for March 24 at 6 p.m., and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.
