HUNTSVILLE – With wins in six of its last seven games, the Sam Houston baseball team will look to snag a road win over one of the top teams in the nation on Tuesday when it takes on No. 4 Texas at Disch-Falk Field.
The Bearkats have won each of their last two weekends against NM State and Middle Tennessee along with a midweek win last Tuesday over Baylor in Huntsville. The Longhorns, meanwhile, have won consecutive SEC series over Alabama and Vanderbilt. Texas is 7-2 in midweek games this year, winning its last three after midweek losses to both Tarleton and Houston.
Tuesday's game can be watched on SEC Network+ with audio coming from the radio call from the Longhorn duo of Craig Way and Keith Moreland. Bearkat fans can also listen online on the Bearkat Sports Network with the duo of Carlos Zimmermann and John Clendenin calling the action.

SERIES vs the LONGHORNS
- Texas leads the all-time series 83-17, including winning each of the last 12 meetings
- The last Bearkat win over the Longhorns came in 2015 with a 5-0 win in Austin
NOTES
- The Bearkats have won six of their last seven games after putting an end to an 11-game losing streak with a win at NM State on April 17
Â
- The Bearkats have homered in 11 of their last 12 games with 17 total in that span. They had just 16 long balls in the first 32 games of the season
Â
- Sam Houston enters Tuesday with 99 stolen bases on the year. That mark leads CUSA and puts the Kats on the cusp of 100 swipes for the second time in four seasons. The Kats have only hit the century mark in steals twice since 1987 with 102 steals in both 2017 and 2023
- Strikeouts were a problem for the Bearkat offense early in the year with the team punching out 10+ times in 13 of the first 18 games of the year; however, the offense has done a good job of cutting down on strikeouts, only reaching double digits in Ks six times in the last 26 games entering Tuesday at Texas
Â
- In fact, Sam Houston struck out just once in Sunday's series clincher vs MTSU. It was the least strikeouts in a single game for the Kats since May 12, 2023 when they had just one in the series opener vs UT Arlington
- Collin Aloisio went 3.0 strong innings of relief on Sunday vs MTSU, becoming the fifth Bearkat pitcher this season to record a save
