Jeanette Van Gundy of San Antonio Texas joins the Bearkat Bowling program from one of the most competitive high school bowling programs in the state of Texas. She graduates from Madison High School as the first women’s athlete from her program to bowl at the NCAA Division I level.

Van Gundy was a standout and a leader to her peers as she helped Madison to a second place finish in the team event at the 2013 Texas High School State Bowling Championships held in Fort Worth and additionally had a top-10 finish in singles.

“Jeanette will offer some quality depth to this roster and will be a valuable asset to this team as the season progresses,” said Coach Hagen. “She brings a strong work ethic and a will to learn which will be a valuable asset to her development moving forward. I’m looking to the freshman to really come into their own by the end of the season because I know what they are capable of collectively.”
