Anna Groce of Kernersville, North Carolina, returns back to the nationally-ranked women's bowling program now with three years under her belt and a top 20 finish at the largest youth event in the world.

Groce is one of the most decorated women's bowlers in North Carolina to date and continues to make her national presence known by participating in the nation’s largest events throughout the summer months.  Anna added another top 20 finish this summer at Junior Gold finishing 17^th against the largest field in history of the event with nearly 800 females.  Additionally she posted back-to-back top 75 finishes in 2010 & 2011 at the USBC Junior Gold Championships, a top-20 finish in 2012, and a top-50 finish in 2013 and 2014.

"This is a big stepping stone year for Anna.  She knows what she wants and how she want her career to end at Sam Houston," head coach Brad Hagen said. "She offers the passion and drive needed to be on a championship contending roster and she’ll be the first to tell anyone she plans on swinging away this season wither eyes set on New Jersey.  She enjoys having a target on her back and knows how to use that in a positive manner.”

Groce joined the Sam Houston bowling program from Robert B. Glenn High School where she excelled in the classroom. She’s continued her academic success at Sam Houston by earning back-to-back-to-back NTCA Academic All American Honors in 2013, 2014, and 2015 as a Bearkat.
